William A. Bulman is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and he completed internships in both surgery and medicine before residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Columbia. He currently serves as Director of Bronchoscopy at the Columbia University Medical Center and is a full-time member of the Critical Care Medicine faculty. He is part of the faculty leadership for Columbia’s Lung Cancer Screening Program, and he is the medical director of the Lung Nodule Assessment Center. He is also the medical director of Columbia Pulmonary Associates, a private practice group in the Columbia Lung Center.

His clinical interests include Interventional Bronchoscopy, advance chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and acute respiratory failure. He is a research investigator in clinical trials involving bronchoscopic treatments for emphysema and studies the use of endobronchial ultrasound-guided needle aspiration in the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer.
