Dr. Wenker earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, her Master’s degree and Doctor of Philosophy degree in Continuing and Vocational Education and the Department of Education, Leadership, and Policy Analysis, respectively, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Wenker is a Board Certified Geriatric Specialist-Emeritus as recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

She teaches the Professional Seminar series (PT 538-PT 543) in addition to PT 527: Physical Therapy Examination and Evaluation. Her service responsibilities are at the local and national level. She sits on the education sub-committee and professional development task for the Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education and is the academic co-chair for the UW Madison Teaching Academy and Clinical Affiliate Advisory Group through the Health Sciences Clinical Teaching Learning Community. Additionally, she is a core faculty member of the Instructional and Teaching Assistant Learning Environment and Pedagogics program. Dr. Wenker serves as the Director of Education for the Board of Directors of the Academy of Geriatrics, a component of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Dr. Wenker’s interests lie in program development evident by her involvement in both state and national education programs along being an instructor for the APTA Credentialing Clinical Instructor Program. Her scholarly work centers around aging adults with dementia and other related diseases and interprofessional education. She is a member of the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association. Dr. Wenker has a joint appointment in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
