Dr. Sherman Silber, a renowned pioneer in microsurgery and infertility, is considered one of the world’s leading authorities in the field of infertility. This includes IVF, Mini-IVF, sperm retrieval, ICSI, vasectomy reversal, male infertility, tubal ligation reversal, egg and embryo freezing, ovary transplantation, and the reproductive biological clock. For over 43 years, Dr. Silber has originally developed all of the most popular fertility treatments used around the world today.

He performed the world’s first microsurgical vasectomy reversal, as well as the first testicle transplant, in the 1970s and now in the current century, the world’s first ovary transplant. He was the first to develop the TESE, MESA, and ICSI techniques for retrieving testicular and epididymal sperm in azoospermic men and injecting them into the wife’s eggs. He headed the clinical MIT team that first mapped and sequenced the Y chromosome in infertile men and discovered the now-famous DAZ gene for male fertility. He was the first to bring and popularize the completely “game-changing” vitrification (i.e. modern, flawless, freezing) technique to the United States from Japan.
