Sarah Kilbourne, MD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UVA. She received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Michigan and then earned both a medical degree and a master’s in pharmacology from Tulane University.
While in graduate school, she volunteered with the Red Cross to provide medical help to victims of Hurricane Katrina and then worked in two New Orleans clinics, providing reproductive health education, HIV/AIDS counseling, and healthcare for the uninsured. In 2009, Dr. Kilbourne moved to Charlottesville, where she completed an internal medicine residency and a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at UVA. She joined the faculty in 2015.
