Dr. Richard Rutherford, M.D., FAAFP graduated with honors from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He went on to complete his internship and residency at Ventura County Medical Center. He served as faculty in the Stanislaus Family Practice Residency where he practiced and supervised residents in the outpatient setting and inpatient intensive care. Dr. Rutherford not only continues his clinical practice as one of the Attending physicians in the Department of Emergency Medicine at VCMC he is the Quality Medical Director at the healthcare agency and Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine.

Dr. Rutherford is Co-President and Emergency Procedure Lead Instructor, at the National Procedure Institute. He develops curriculum and instructs Emergency Procedure Courses throughout the United States. He has designed, conducted, published, and presented several national studies. Dr. Rutherford is the recipient of multiple prestigious awards. Additionally, he has participated in the international medical ministry since 1994.
