Dr Jalali is currently the medical director of Apollo Proton Cancer Centre (APCC) which is South Asia’s first proton therapy facility and a state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer centre. Prior to joining APCC, Dr Jalali was associated with the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai as Professor & Senior Consultant Radiation Oncologist. Dr Jalali is recognized as a key global opinion leader particularly for high-precision radiotherapy techniques especially proton therapy, stereotactic radiation, enhancing the quality of life for cancer patients and developing appropriate research models. It is to his credit and foresight that the ‘Neuro Oncology’ Group at TMH, which he developed, is hailed as the finest such unit in India and recognized throughout the world.

Dr Jalali’s several research publications including in high-impact journals have been helpful in guiding treatment philosophies in the management of cancers. Dr Jalali is also known for his commitment to charity and promoting equitable cancer care for patient populations in the developing world. He has been running for decades the ‘Brain Tumour Foundation of India’, an internationally recognized charity dedicated to the welfare of patients with brain tumours and their families, as well as conducting ‘Patient support group’ meetings for women’s cancers.
