Paolo Scolozzi studied medicine at the University of Lausanne where he obtained his doctorate in 1993. As part of his postgraduate training in maxillofacial surgery, he began studying dentistry at the University of Geneva and graduated as a dentist in 2000. In 2003, he received the FMH Specialist Award in Maxillofacial Surgery and moved to the United States in 2005. He performs a fellowshipat Stanford University where his research focuses on virtual computer prediction in corrective surgery for maxillomandibular dysmorphosis.
Since 2006, he has been privat-docent and a lecturer at the University of Lausanne. In 2009 he was appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery of the Faculty of Medicine of UNIGE and Chief Medical Officer of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Surgery of the HUG, and in February 2014 became an ordinary professor in the same department. His research focuses on computer-assisted cranio-maxillofacial surgery.
