Biography :

Paolo Fusar-Poli is Reader in Psychiatry and Youth Mental Health at the Department of Psychosis Studies, Institute of Psychiatry Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London and Associate Professor at the Department of Behavioural Sciences, University of Pavia, Italy. Paolo is working as consultant in Adult Psychiatry at the Outreach and Support in South-London (OASIS) South London and The Maudsley NHS Trust, one of the oldest and largest clinical services for the detection and prevention of mental disorders in Europe and worldwide.

Paolo is group Head, “EPIC”, Early Psychosis: Intervention and Clinical-detection. Chair of the European College of NeuroPsychopharmacology Thematic Working Group on the Prevention of Mental Disorders and Promotion of Mental Health and lead of the National Institute of Health Research - Mental Health Translational Research Centre Early Psychosis workstream. Paolo’s research focuses on psychopathology and phenomenology of emerging mental disorders, early detection, personalised psychiatry, classification of mental disorders, evidence synthesis, preventive treatments, neurosciences and philosophy of science.
