Dr. Crum-Cianflone received her undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio where she graduated summa cum laude, and her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine as an Honor’s Graduate and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). She also has received a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH, Epidemiology) from San Diego State University. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases as well as has a Certification in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. Dr. Crum-Cianflone has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including as an International and Global Who’s Who Society Member and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal during her service in the U.S. military. She is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a member of the Armed Forces Infectious Disease Society of America and a Fellow in the American College of Physicians as well as several other professional societies. Dr. Crum-Cianflone is a lecturer at San Diego State University in the Graduate School of Public Health where she teaches Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Epidemiology. She is currently an Infectious Diseases staff physician at the Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego where she cares for patients and serves as a mentor for students, residents, and fellows. She is also the co-chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program for the Scripps Hospital System. Dr. Crum-Cianflone is an avid teacher and has given lectures on infectious diseases worldwide. She has performed groundbreaking research in the areas of infectious diseases and HIV medicine with support from both the NIH and DoD.
