Michael von Wolff studied medicine in Aachen and London until 1994. Subsequently, he spent 1.5 years as a doctor in the internship in research at the Institute of Anatomy and Reproductive Biology in Aachen under Prof. Dr. med. Dr. HM Beier. He completed his gynecological training at the Klinikum Grosshadern in Munich with Prof. Dr. med. H. Hepp and in Heidelberg with Prof. dr. T. Strowitzki. During this time he also completed a research stay in New York. In 2004 he habilitated on "Endometrial Regulation and Dysregulation and its Therapeutic Options". After being awarded a full professorship in 2007, in 2009 he was appointed Head of Department of the Department of Gynecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine at the University Gynecological Clinic Bern, Switzerland. His current major research interests are fertility protection in cancer. In this context, he also initiated the FertiPROTEKT network in 2006 and has been coordinating it ever since. In 2007 he founded the ESHRE Task Force "Fertility Preservation". Furthermore, he is working on the optimization of Natural Cycle IVF both clinically and fundamentally. He is co-editor of the Swiss journal "Gynecology" and the journal "Gynecological Endocrinology".
