Lawrence is an Invited lecturer nationally at MD Anderson Hospital, University of Pennsylvania, Thomas Jefferson University, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Yale, among others. He is also Invited lecturer internationally in Vienna, Austria; Tel Aviv, Israel; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Shanghai, China; and Manila, Philippines, among others. Recently he awarded grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Lance Armstrong Foundation to study radiation induced heart and lung injury.
Dr. Larry Marks’ particular interests include clinical trials in breast and lung cancer, as well as in enhancing our understanding of the mechanisms behind radiation associated normal tissue injury. His work assesses the use of advanced technologies to improve the therapeutic ratio for patients with cancers of the breast and lung. He is also interested in human factors engineering as a means to improve safety in the radiation oncology clinic.
