Kavita Vyas Dharmarajan, M.D., M.Sc., is a radiation oncologist with specialized expertise in radiotherapy for palliation in advanced cancer. Dr. Dharmarajan received her medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and Master of Science degree in social health policy from the London School of Economics. She completed her internship in pediatrics at the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children followed by her residency in radiation oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Dharmarajan has published several peer-reviewed articles and conducted an Institutional Review Board-approved research study examining patient decision-making in advanced cancer patients considering palliative radiotherapy. Her research has been funded by the prestigious American Medical Association Foundation Seed Grant Award.

Dr. Dharmarajan has presented her findings at national meetings and has received several awards for her work including the Research and Education Foundation Award for Outstanding ASTRO Presentation from the American Association of Women Radiologists, an ASTRO Scientific Abstract Award, and the RSNA Resident Research Award. Her primary interests include the integration of radiotherapy into a multidisciplinary treatment approach for patients living with advanced malignancies. In addition to palliative treatments, Dr. Dharmarajan specializes in radiation for skin malignancies, lymphoma, myeloma, and pediatric malignancies.
