Christine Kessler is an award-winning nurse practitioner, national/international speaker, author, researcher, and consultant. After 15 years as the senior Endocrinology NP at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital and Outpatient Clinics, she recently founded Metabolic Medicine Associates in King George, Virginia, providing diabetes and weight loss management, as well as general endocrine services to an underserved population. Her past health care work with the poor has taken her to remote regions throughout the world.

Christine’s 42 years of nursing practice includes her work as a Critical Care Clinical Specialist and ACNP, as well as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Seattle Pacific University and as adjunct graduate nursing faculty at three other universities, including the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. She is a prolific author, having co-authored two books and written dozens of articles and book chapters mostly pertaining to endocrinology and metabolic medicine. Christine has also served as a nursing journal editor and has sat on several nursing editorial boards, most recently Clinician Reviews.

Christine has received 3 of the Army’s prestigious Civilian Achievement Awards for high patient satisfaction as well as the Army Silver ACE Award. Most notably, she received a personal commendation and medal from the U.S. Surgeon General for having the highest patient satisfaction ratings among all Army healthcare providers worldwide. Christine even works as an occasional stand-up comedian.
