Bianca D. Santomasso BS, MD, PhD

Bianca is a neuro-oncologist who cares for people with primary and metastatic brain tumors as well as neurologic complications of cancer. His research is focused on developing new ways to use the immune system to treat glioblastoma, the most common and aggressive form of adult brain cancer. He is involved in clinical trials evaluating novel immunotherapy drugs. In the lab, he study the tumor microenvironment (the area around the tumor) with the goal of enhancing immune recognition of tumors and developing novel treatment strategies for brain tumor patients.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from Yale University, he attended the Tri-Institutional MD-PhD Program, obtaining my MD degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and my PhD in immunology from The Rockefeller University. He completed his residency in neurology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Cornell, where he served as chief resident during his final year. He completed his fellowship in neuro-oncology at MSK and then joined the faculty with an appointment in the Department of Neurology.
