Arulraj Ramakrishan MBBS, MRCP, CCT (UK-GASTRO)

Dr. Arulraj Ramakrishnan after completing his MBBS from SRMC, Chennai did his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians, UK during the course of his training in General Medicine in the UK from 2001 to 2003. He had excellent exposure to the management of Hepatopancreatobiliary disorders and inflammatory bowel disease during his training years in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the UK from 2004 to 2012 Over the course of his training, he obtained Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (JAG) accreditation for endoscopies and became a national endoscopy trainer in the UK. His clinical experience as a Consultant at Birmingham tertiary liver unit in the UK from 2012 to 2015 and experience as a clinical registrar in gastroenterology and hepatology for 8 years have enabled him to provide both immediate and specialist care. 

As a Consultant in the UK, he contributed to the development of an alcohol liaison service and set up a fibro scan service for screening patients with liver disease. He was instrumental in developing radiological interventions for the management of Portal hypertension and Hepatocellular cancer and setting up HDU-level care for Hepatology in the UK. He was an honorary clinical lecturer in the UK and an avid researcher with a primary focus on liver diseases.
