Dr. Andrew Murr is currently the Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UCSF and currently holds the Roger Boles, MD Endowed Chair in Otolaryngology Education. He also contributes as a general otolaryngologist with a focus in rhinology in the department at UCSF. His research interests include: new technologies for the treatment of sinus disease, the role of fungus in sinus disease and clinical outcomes for sinusitis treatment interventions.

Murr earned a medical degree at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia (now Drexel University) and completed a residency in otolaryngology at St. Louis University Medical Center in Missouri. He has served as the director of the department's Residency Program and an advisory college mentor in the School of Medicine. Murr has also been a member of the Academy of Medical Educators at UCSF since 2003.
