Ajay Gupta MD

Dr. Ajay Gupta, M.D., is the head of the section of Pediatric Epilepsy in the Epilepsy Center/Neurological Institute. He is a Professor at The Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. He is also the founder and director of the multidisciplinary Tuberous Sclerosis Program at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Gupta is an expert in the field of childhood and adolescent epilepsy with emphasis on epilepsy surgery evaluation, management of complex childhood epilepsies, and neurocutaneous disorders such as Tuberous Sclerosis Complex and Sturge-Weber syndrome.  Dr. Gupta is also a skilled specialist in intraoperative neurophysiological techniques used during brain surgery to map brain regions for critical functions. His expertise attracts national and international consultations from families and practicing Neurologists who seek a second opinion for complex cases. Dr. Gupta is recognized by the Consumers' Research Council's 'Top Physicians of America", Marquis’ "Who's Who in America", and the “Best Doctors in America”.

Dr. Gupta serves on the professional and scientific committees of the American Epilepsy Society, Child Neurology Society, and International League against Epilepsy. He serves on the editorial board of prestigious journals in the field, ‘Pediatric Neurology’ and Epilepsy Currents’. Dr. Gupta also works on the Professional and Scientific Board of the U.S. Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance. He serves on the peer-review panel of national and international journals in the field of epilepsy. He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Epilepsy Society, Child Neurology Society, International Child Neurology Association, and American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Gupta is board-certified in the specialties of Pediatrics, Neurology/Child Neurology, EEG/Clinical Neurophysiology, and Epilepsy.
