The mission of the New York State Osteopathic Medical Society (NYSOMS) is to foster both individual and public health though the art, science, philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine.

NYSOMS strives to fulfill its vision by advocating on behalf of all osteopathic physicians in New York State, disseminating information that is beneficial to osteopathic physicians students, and the public; providing continuing medical education programs for its members; striving to ensure that professional standards are maintained and patient-physician relationships are enhanced.
