Canadian Association for Interventional Radiology (CAIR) / Assoiciation canadienne Pour la radiologie d'intervention

Montreal, Quebec, Canada

The first steps leading to the creation of the Canadian Association for Interventional Radiology (CAIR), previously known under the name CIRA, started at a meeting of the Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (SCVIR), later to become The Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR), in San Diego. Canadian interventional radiologists felt the need to create an association devoted solely to the interest of interventional radiology, later to become a recognized subspecialty of radiology.

Mission:
The Canadian Association for Interventional Radiology (CAIR) brings together a vast majority of Interventional Radiologists as well as other professionals of the field and works with patient groups and other allies to help increase accessibility for Canadians to patient friendly, effective, minimally invasive, image guided treatments.

Vision:
Improving Canadians’ health and quality of life through minimally invasive, image guided therapy.
