OVERVIEW

Canadian Association for Interventional Radiology (CAIR) Annual Scientific Meeting is organized by Canadian Association for Interventional Radiology (CAIR) / Assoiciation canadienne Pour la radiologie d'intervention and will be held from May 25 - 27, 2023 at Hilton Quebec, Quebec, Quebec, Canada.

Learning Objectives:
At the end of the meeting, the participant should expect to:
• Describe indications and techniques of combined endovascular interventions in multi-visceral tumor management
• List recent updates in the medical optimization of peripheral vascular disease
• Identify the barriers to access to IR procedures experienced by patients in Canada and strategies to improve access.
• Describe the indications and evidence for use of paclitaxel-coated technology based on updated research and implications on current clinical practice
• List the clinical complications, indication for treatment, and endovascular techniques used in the treatment of pulmonary AVMs
• Describe the current treatment pathway and supportive evidence for the management of HCC in Canada based on the updated HCC guidelines
• Describe techniques and indications for use in curative and palliative procedures in MSK intervention
• Review strategies to optimize locoregional pain control in the IR suite
• Review the most important scientific papers affecting the clinical practice of  Interventional Radiology
• Describe the indications and techniques for the treatment of arteriovenous malformations and list the benefits of a multidisciplinary approach
• Discuss and review the multidisciplinary approach to Women’s Health, including the management of fibroids, adenomyosis, and pelvic congestion syndrome
• List the indications, and benefits of catheter-directed thrombolysis vs mechanical thrombectomy in the setting of pulmonary arterial embolism, peripheral arterial embolism, and peripheral venous thrombosis.
• Review the science of wellness and longevity and its impact on practice
• Describe the importance of mindfulness and its role in physician well-being in clinical practice.
• List the benefits of professional coaching in improving medical practice
• Describe opportunities to participate in IR education and practice across the globe
• Exchange opinions and experience in challenging cases through workshops, debates, and panel cases
• Discuss the impact of IR reach-out initiatives in Africa
