OVERVIEW

16th Annual Meeting of Canadian Interventional Radiology Association (CIRA) is organized by Canadian Interventional Radiology Association (CIRA) and would be held during Jun 1 - 3, 2017 at Le Westin Montreal, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The target audience for this medical event are Interventional Radiologists, Radiology residents, Interventional Radiology Fellows as well as Technologists and Nurses working in Interventional Radiology. This event could be of interest for any healthcare provider with an interest in Interventional Radiology.

Objectives :

At the end of the meeting, the participant should expect to :
• Understand the role of drug-eluting technologies in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease
• Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of maintaining a close relationship with diagnostic radiology
• Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of prophylactic IVC filters in high risk patients
• Review the indications for IVC filters and the latest data regarding outcomes
• Review the status of IVC filters in Canada
• Be familiar with different strategies and models in Canadian hospitals in response to the Health Canada warning for IVC filter management
• Review different techniques in difficult IVC filter removal
• Understand the procurement process, and why IR should be involved
• Review cone beam CT techniques in interventional oncology
• Become familiar with strategies to improve patient safety in IR
• Review thermal ablation techniques and literature for management of metastatic colorectal carcinoma
• Become familiar with the role of Y90 radioembolization in the management of metastatic colorectal carcinoma
• Exchange opinions and experience in challenging cases through workshops, debates and panel cases
• Discuss the future direction of IR
