What is new and controversial in pediatric infectious diseases in 2020 is organized by the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS). This Online CME Course will be held on Nov 24, 2020.

Each individual CME course has been approved for 1 credit hour as an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1), as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the RCPSC.

Course description:
The speaker will present on topics in pediatric infectious diseases that are associated with general pediatricians as there is new knowledge or management that remains controversial. The content and quality of possible evidence will be presented. Topics will be determined closer to the date depending on what the literature shows.

• Understand what is controversial in the approach to infants born to women with reactive syphilis serology during pregnancy.
• Describe the rationale behind the prevailing strategy to screening for and diagnosing congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in Canada.
• Put into practice recent findings associating with epidemiology, diagnosis, or management of infections.
