Description:
The Obesity Medicine Association's four obesity treatment pillars are nutrition, physical activity, behavior, and medication. Treatment plans comprised of these four approaches can help patients reach their weight and health goals. During the brand new Treatment Pillars: Medication and Behavior course, delve into the pharmacological and behavioral components of clinical obesity treatment.

Presentation Objectives:
• Interact more confidently with patients in regards to their individual weight and health problems associated with obesity
• Apply cognitive behavioral therapy during patient appointments
• Incorporate motivational interviewing into patient interactions as appropriate
• Effectively design an individualized treatment plan for patients affected by overweight and obesity
• Develop behavioral modification strategies unique to each patient's needs
• Understand and recognize obesity as a disease state, and more effectively diagnose, evaluate, and treat the disease obesity
• Educate patients about the benefits and/or risks associated with supplements associated with weight management
• Prescribe combination medication therapies as part of a comprehensive treatment plan
• Use anti-obesity medications confidently and appropriately as part of an overall treatment
