What is the overview of The microbiome and infant health and nutrition: With a focus on human milk oligosaccharides?

Course Description:
This session will examine human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) in relation to the gut microbiota and recognize the influence of HMOs on health and growth outcomes. After lipids and lactose, HMOs are the third most abundant solid component of human milk and are supposed to assist as imperative protective components of mother’s milk. This CME webcast will converge on the microbiome, the role of HMO’s and their influence in neonatal health and immune-system development.

• Explain the significance of the gut microbiome in neonatal health and immune-system development.
• Examine the biology of human milk oligosaccharides and their relationship to gut microbiota.
