Description:
This case-based activity will cover the treatment and management of patients with diabetes.

Objectives:
On completing the program, attendees should be able to:
• Describe how a patient-centered approach to the care of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) can help improve glycemic control, reduce complications and improve patient self- management
• Assess strategies for the use of various oral and injectable medications for treatment intensification in patients with T2DM not meeting their glycemic goals
• Review updated guidelines and algorithms pertinent to the management of patients with T2DM, with or without concomitant heart failure or renal disease
• Evaluate the role of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists in managing cardiovascular and renal risk in patients with T2DM
