OVERVIEW

The 2023 CME/CE course on diabetes diagnosis and management, a part of the Type I & II diabetes patient treatment series, provides comprehensive insights into contemporary practices for managing this chronic condition. With the increasing global burden of diabetes, especially Type 2, healthcare professionals must remain up to date on the latest advancements in diagnostics, pharmacologic therapies, and patient-centered treatment strategies. This course presents expert-led discussions on diagnostic criteria, HbA1c targets, and risk assessment models. Participants will acquire critical skills in evaluating pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment approaches, including the latest antidiabetic medications, insulin regimens, and technologies such as continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pumps. Emphasis is also placed on lifestyle modification, obesity management, and integrating cardiovascular risk reduction into diabetes care. This program is designed to empower providers with practical tools and evidence-based strategies to optimize glycemic control and improve patient outcomes.

  • Recognize obesity and weight management strategies for the prevention of type 2 diabetes.
  • List the pharmacologic approaches to glycemic treatment.
  • Describe cardiovascular disease and associated risk management strategies in diabetic patients.
