Upon completion of this activity, you will be able to:
• List at least three reversible medical conditions that could mimic the signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease
• Discuss the American Academy of Neurology practice parameters for recommended clinical tests and evaluations that should be completed in order to rule out reversible causes of the dementia
• Recognize the unique clinical strategies in screening for cognitive impairment in special populations, such as persons with intellectual disabilities
