Established in 1957 as the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Medical Center, UK HealthCare is considered one of the nation’s finest academic medical centers. Beginning with the opening of University Hospital in 1960, patient care services were provided to Central and Eastern Kentucky. More recently, clinical services were consolidated and reorganized as UK HealthCare to better address the needs of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond. UK HealthCare facilities include UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital, UK Good Samaritan Hospital, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Markey Cancer Center, Gill Heart Institute, Kentucky Neuroscience Institute, UK Transplant Center, UK OB/GYN, the Kentucky Clinics, 80 specialized clinics and 143 outreach programs. A team of 9,000 physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals are dedicated to high-quality patient care.
UK HealthCare CECentral delivers high-quality live and enduring continuing professional development activities to physicians, pharmacists, and other health care professionals emphasizing evidence-based practice, adult learning principles and innovative web-based technology with the goal of promoting the adoption of healthcare practices that have been demonstrated to improve community health and patient outcomes.
