OVERVIEW

Newer Orthopedic Modalities & Therapies is organized by Southern Medical Association (SMA) and will be held from Nov 15, 2018 - Nov 15, 2019.

Target Audience:
This activity is designed for healthcare professionals including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and allied healthcare professionals of all specialties.

Credits Available:
Southern Medical Association designates this enduring material for a maximum of .75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

All healthcare professionals who are not MDs or DOs will receive a certificate of participation.

Goals and Objectives:
New and intriguing developments that are in trials will potentially improve, in the future, the ability to appropriately use biologics (stem cells) and other treatments. Examples will be given of several studies that are ongoing to scientifically delineate the safety and effectiveness (or not) of these biologics, and techniques. Future patient outcomes will hopefully be positively influenced as the providers learn what new treatments may be available for various orthopedic conditions. At the conclusion of the session, learners should be better prepared to utilize emerging technologies to make better decisions to enhance patient care and outcomes.
