Methadone and Buprenorphine: Evidence-base in Addiction Treatment and Common Pitfalls and Myths is organized by UK HealthCare CECentral and will be held from Oct 23, 2013 - Aug 16, 2019.

The target audience for this medical event is prescribers of controlled substances including physicians, nurse practitioners, and dentists and any other interested health care professionals. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Conference Objectives are :
Substance use disorders are common medical disorders that all health care providers should be aware of and have basic knowledge and practice competence. Methodone and buprenorphine are important treatment options that can help bring treatment back into main stream medical practice.

Conference Objectives :
Upon completion of this education activity, you will be able to:
• Review why both buprenorphine and methadone are on the World Health Organization (WHO) list of essential medications
• Compare and contrast pharmacology of buprenorphine and methadone
• List common pitfalls for prescribing both medications (with case examples)
• Access the SAMHSA treatment locator and national mentoring programs sponsored by SAMHSA for addiction and pain [i.e., the PCSS-O (opioid) and the PCSS-B (buprenorphine)]
