Why everyone needs a hopping penguin! This course offers a guide to identifying behaviors and utilizing antecedents and consequences effectively. The purpose of this course is to introduce the functions of interfering behaviors that can reduce or block progress towards attainment of therapy goals, as well as showing ways to utilize modifications of antecedents and consequences to reduce or eliminate these interfering behaviors. Using the research based approaches of behavior analysis, this presentation will provide guidance for changing the trajectory of sessions. The presentation will utilize a video samples of real kiddos to demonstrate application of material.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Identify the role of the rehab therapist in successful behavioral intervention.
2. Identify potential functions of interfering behaviors.
3. Identify use of differential reinforcement techniques to reduce challenging behaviors during educational, social, and play opportunities.
4. Identify how appropriate reinforcement schedules can reduce challenging behaviors in therapeutic intervention.
5. List three techniques for using antecedent interventions.

Format: This is a 3-contact hour course equivalent to 3 CEU’s or 0.3 CEUs offered as a live webinar or self-study. Instructors present the live course content via an internet website displaying real time power points. Learners will receive a course instruction link.
