Today on MedNet21, we're going to discuss Lymphoma.
The presentation will provide an overview of lymphoma, including clinical and pathologic features, epidemiology, and the general approach to treatment.
Objective(s):
As a result of this educational activity, webcast participants will be able to: DEFINE the most common types of aggressive lymphomas, identify both urgent initial presentations and urgent complications of treatment, and outline standards of survivorship; and DESCRIBE the features of indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma including the most common subtypes, follicular lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma and Waldenström macroglobulinemia. You’ll also learn about the following:
• What causes lymphoma
• The spectrum of lymphomas
• Stem cell transplant in aggressive lymphomas
• Whether there a role for “maintenance rituximab”
• Chronic lymphocytic leukemia versus non-Hodgkin lymphoma
• Lymphoma mimics
• Deciding when to biopsy an enlarged lymph node
