JDRF PEAK: Type 1 Diabetes, Exercise, and Hyperglycemia: A Case Study is organized by Med-IQ and will be held from Jun 20, 2018 - Jun 19, 2019.
The target audience for this medical event is the healthcare team caring for those living with type 1 diabetes, including diabetologists, adult and pediatric endocrinologists, primary care physicians, endocrinology advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, dietitians, CDs, and other healthcare professionals. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Course Description:
In this case study, Drs. Henske and Kowalski use a real-world example to discuss strategies for managing hyperglycemia with aerobic activity and review important considerations for patients who experience hyperglycemia following exercise.
Course Objectives:
• Describe strategies for managing hyperglycemia with aerobic activity in patients with T1D
• Outline critical considerations when caring for patients with T1D who experience hyperglycemia following aerobic exercise
