OVERVIEW
How Low Do You Go? - Clinical Updates in LDL-C Management is organized by Pri-Med and will be held during Jan 30, 2017 - Jan 30, 2018.
The target audience for this medical event is Cardiologists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Overview :
This program covers the treatment of patients with elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels and increased risks for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). After briefly reviewing cholesterol homeostasis, expert faculty compare current clinical practice guidelines on LDL-C management and discuss the profiles and appropriate use of newer nonstatin lipid-lowering therapies.
Learning Objectives :
• Discuss key processes in cholesterol homeostasis with an emphasis on clinically relevant relationships among ASCVD, LDL-C levels, and new targets for lipid-lowering therapies
• Describe the mechanism of action and clinical profiles of new PCSK9 inhibitors for hypercholesterolemia, including patient populations that may benefit from these therapies
• Tailor multimodal lipid-lowering regimens based on current lipid profiles, cardiovascular risks, treatment responses, and patient preferences
• Communicate with patients to promote treatment adherence and encourage shared decision making during ongoing preventative care
Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
