Dr. Deepak L. Bhatt is the executive director of Interventional Cardiovascular Programs at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). He is also a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and editor-in-chief of the Harvard Heart Letter. Dr. Bhatt specializes in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology. He received his medical degree from Cornell University and his Master in Public Health degree from Harvard University. He completed an internal medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Bhatt completed fellowships in cardiology, interventional cardiology, and cerebral and peripheral vascular intervention, as well as serving as Chief Interventional Fellow at Cleveland Clinic. He also served as Associate Director of the Cleveland Clinic Cardiovascular Coordinating Center. Dr. Bhatt was then recruited to be the Chief of Cardiology at VA Boston Healthcare System and served in that role for several years.
Dr. Bhatt has authored or co-authored over 1400 publications and is listed as a Thomson Reuters/Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher. He is the Editor of the peer-reviewed Journal of Invasive Cardiology and Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Heart Letter for patients.
