Description:
This activity is designed to enhance your awareness, knowledge and applicability of guidelines as applied to your interactions with cardiovascular disease and stroke patients.  The format includes an online CME/CE program with enduring materials based upon highlights of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy guidelines, case studies to illustrate patient applicability and resource materials.

Objectives:
At the completion of this online course, the learner will be able to:
• Discuss important indicators for considering a diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
• List common misdiagnoses for HCM and describe how practitioners can avoid errors.
• Identify those individuals who are most in need of genetic testing for HCM.
• Use a treatment algorithm to choose the most appropriate strategies for diagnosing and treating HCM.
• Identify the most appropriate HCM patients for ICDs, alcohol septal ablation or septal myectomy.
• Apply the recommendations from the new AHA/ACCF guidelines to a simulated scenario and to their practice, improving the quality of care that patients with HCM receive.
