End Stage Dementia and End-of-Life Care is organized by UK HealthCare CECentral and will be held from Jun 19, 2013 - Jun 18, 2019.

The target audience for this medical event is Physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners, nursing home administrators, home health providers, allied health providers, social workers, and other health care professionals who work with persons with Alzheimer’s Disease. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Conference Description :
Many healthcare providers do not conceptualize degenerative dementia as a fatal, uncurable condition and do not take appropriate steps to ensure adequate end-of-life care. Current hospice mentality focuses on physical impairment related to systemic organ system failure. Ideally, end-of-life care should be prepared for and initiated with end-stage brain failure irrespective of the health of systemic organ systems.

Conference Objectives :
Upon completion of the educational activity, you will be able to:
• Describe the progression of signs and symptoms in end-stage dementia.
• Identify the different uses of pharmacological therapies to alleviate symptoms and ensure comfort in the end-stage of disease.
• Create an environment conducive to comfort care for persons in the end-stage of dementia.
• Discuss different types of spiritual expression and how to use them to provide end-of-life spiritual care and support to people with end-stage dementia.

Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.
