Diabetic Neuropathy : Mechanisms and Management is organized by American Neurological Association (ANA) and will be held during Sep 28, 2015 - Sep 28, 2018. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Description :
Neuropathy associated with type 2 diabetes is a serious worldwide epidemic with complex mechanisms and limited treatments. Here, I briefly review our current understanding of diabetic neuropathy disease mechanisms, present the currently available experimental models to test ideas and develop therapies, and discuss our recent insights into the role of diet, exercise, and metabolic control on the treatment of diabetic neuropathy.
Learning Objectives :
After this session, participants will be better prepared to do the following in practice:
• Understand the underlying factors contributing to diabetic neuropathy
• Discuss current research progress and recommend treatment approaches to patients with diabetic neuropathy
