Challenges of Physician Leadership is organized by Southern Medical Association (SMA) and will be held from Nov 19, 2018 - Nov 19, 2019. This Conference has been approved for a maximum of 0.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Target Audience :
This activity is designed for healthcare professionals including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and allied healthcare professionals of all specialties.

Goals and Objectives :
In an evolving healthcare system, physicians are now faced with administrative and regulatory burdens. Healthcare today requires innovative, interdisciplinary physician leaders who will envision and shape the future of the business of medicine. It is imperative for physicians to build business, management and leadership skills, and bring their expertise, experience and unique perspective to the forefront of leadership. The goal of this session is to offer perspectives on the challenges, as well as opportunities for physician leaders in a complex, matrixed organization. At the conclusion of the session, learners should be better prepared to:
• Recognize daily challenges of the physician leader and how such individuals sustain their commitment to the position and the organization's vision.
