OVERVIEW

Bridging the Gaps – Advancing Equity and Multidisciplinary LN Management is organized by CME Outfitters, LLC.

Description:
Health care professionals (HCPs) managing lupus nephritis (LN) face persistent gaps in equitable care, with disproportionate burden and worse outcomes among Black and Latine patients driven by structural barriers, delayed recognition, and inconsistent access to specialty services. Despite updated guidelines and emerging targeted therapies, health care delivery is impacted by prevalent diagnostic delays, clinical inertia in timely treatment escalation, and fragmented care across specialties. With focused education, HCPs can strengthen LN care by implementing multidisciplinary workflows that reduce communication barriers, support culturally sensitive, patient-centered education and shared decision-making, and address social drivers of health that affect access and persistence with care. These approaches can improve follow-up, adherence, and timely escalation when needed, leading to better renal outcomes across diverse clinical settings.

In this CME Outfitters Snack, expert faculty will review strategies to reduce disparities in LN care among underserved populations, enhance cross-specialty coordination, and strengthen patient education.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to better:

  • Develop strategies to address disparities in LN care for underserved populations to optimize coordination across specialties and improve patient education
