OVERVIEW
Anesthesia Advanced Circulatory Life Support (ACLS): First Response to Circulatory Crisis in the OR is organized by American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and will be held during Apr 22, 2016 - Apr 23, 2018.
The target audience for this medical event is Anesthesiologists. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.
Conference Description:
The course includes multiple scenarios where participants have the opportunity to make "first response" decisions to cardiac situations in the OR. Like first responders in other professions, anesthesiologists are the first responders to cardiac arrest in the OR and patients rely on their ability to be prepared to identify and manage treatment, even though the incidents of life-threatening conditions rarely occur.
The course is divided into five lessons. Completion of the course includes lessons one through four and three scenarios of your choice from lesson five. The course objectives are to help you explore and resolve OR scenarios that will improve your awareness, knowledge and skills in identifying signs and symptoms, and outlining appropriate measures for managing cardiac situations in the OR.
Conference Objectives are:
• Identify rare and complex, pre-arrest, circulatory crises that require immediate response in the perioperative setting.
• Manage various forms of shock, that may devolve into cardiac arrest.
• Apply principles of monitoring and management of ventilation, gas trapping, and resuscitation to hemodynamic instability and cardiac arrest
• Outline treatment for common tachy- and bradydysrhythmias, including pump shock, airway management and hypovolemia
• Manage special cases of cardiac arrest including anaphylaxis, gas embolism, and malignant hyperthermia
