Overview:
The care of the patient with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is complex, with treatment options that may equally allow for differing treatment strategies. Understanding how patients with IBD assess the risks, benefits, quality of life, convenience, and cost trade-offs when they decide among the various biologic treatment options can help guide clinicians in clinical decision-making. This online CME activity is designed to aid clinicians who treat patients with IBD in identifying what matters most (i.e., mode of administration, effectiveness, etc.) to IBD patients when they decide among the different biologics.

Objectives:
• Optimize therapy for patients with IBD by learning about patient-reported experiences
• Summarize the side effects and concerns most commonly described by patients
• Describe which factors patients value most when making decisions about using biologic therapies for IBD
• Learn about the discrepancies between what physicians value when they prescribe biologics and what patients value with regards to biologic therapies
