Strategically developed to promote the care team’s awareness of HHT and galvanize optimization of HHT-associated IDA management, this series of Ace the Case sessions will highlight key teaching points and clinical pearls in the real-world management of patients with HHT and associated ID/IDA, inclusive of current guideline recommendations and expert best practices for safely and effectively using IV iron supplementation in the setting of HHT.

This case-based educational session follows a 46-year-old woman who was diagnosed with HHT seven years ago, has a current epistaxis severity score (ESS) = 4.15/10, and overt iron deficiency anemia (IDA) based on iron studies and CBC results. Key teaching points highlighted in this case include HHT disease evaluation and imaging best practices, guideline recommendations for treating HHT-associated IDA, and the differential utility of specific IV iron products for patients with HHT.
