Description:
The purpose of this course is to review signs and symptoms of joint hypermobility as well as recognize and identify epidemiology and classification systems of hypermobility. The Beighton Scale screen will be reviewed. In addition, possible comorbidities associated with joint hypermobility will be discussed, thus assisting clinicians in their evaluation and treatment of individuals with joint hypermobility. (Intermediate Level).

Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:

Recognize and identify epidemiology and at least 3 classification systems of hypermobility.
Understand the histology of connective tissue.
Identify 3-5 signs and symptoms of joint hypermobility.
Identify the Beighton scale screen on an individual.
List 5-10 possible associated comorbidities with joint hypermobility.

This is a 3 contact hour course equivalent to 3 CEU’s or 0.3 CEUs offered as a live webinar or self-study. Instructors present the live course content via an internet website displaying real time power points. Learners will receive a course instruction link. Instructors lecture through livestreaming internet on your computer. Questions may be asked during the webinar using the chat feature or the “raise hand” feature for live discussion.
