11th Annual Medical Director/Physician Leadership Forum is organized by OptumHealth Education (OHE) and will be held from Dec 15, 2017 - Dec 15, 2019.

Intended audience :
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of case managers, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physicians and other health care professionals that manage large patient populations and/or their benefits worldwide.

Course Description:
These presentations discuss clinical innovations and relevant research that can be applied when working to optimize patient care, outcomes and benefits.

Course Objectives:
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
• Describe how interprofessional teams of health care providers can identify challenges and develop strategies to integrate pharmaceutical and nonpharmaceutical treatment options for chronic pain, as well as work with patients and their family members to optimize shared decision-making and management of chronic pain conditions.
• Discuss the latest treatment modalities for inflammatory bowel disease and the impact these treatments have on the immune system.
• Examine the potential barriers to care that are impacted by health care inequity as a result of socioeconomic and demographic characteristics.
• Identify the clinical signs and symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and distinguish between memory loss associated with normal signs of aging and progressive dementia associated with Alzheimer's.
• Recognize the latest evidence-based practice guidelines surrounding gene therapies.
• Analyze strategies for early detection and intervention for chronic kidney disease (CKD) as well as state practice guidelines and pharmaceutical and nonpharmaceutical interventions to diagnose, evaluate, and manage CKD.
• Explore the role that intestinal microbiota play in human health and disease, including cardiovascular diseases.
