The motto of the 104th annual conference of the German Society for Pathology "Our immune system - the state in the state" points to the leitmotif of this congress.
This multifunctional cell system is built up in youth, gets to know the world, optimizes itself with enormous effort, tolerates the self, and fights the non-self. Our lymphatic system is almost ubiquitous and lies “in wait” to be constantly ready to take action and initiate a complex immune reaction, which can be fatal on a cellular level and leaves its mark in the form of high-affinity antibodies that protect us against attacks from the microbiome be immune, and memory cells leftover from clones that have worked successfully for us before.
Immune diseases are common in every area of ??pathology, and this year's conference is said to be ranked around them.
In Key Note Lectures we will hear experts from the fields of immunology and immunopathology, we will receive reports on immuno-oncology from a theoretical and clinical point of view, and we will also learn about the latest developments in thinking about the immunological microenvironment of neoplasia and its clinical relevance. The obesity of the overweight, which is still unknown to most of us and its endocrine consequences, chronic inflammation, autoimmunity, graft versus host, and host versus graft are discussed.
These topics form the common thread that runs through the congress days, enriched by lecturers from all areas of pathology. This will make it clear how diverse and important the contribution of modern pathology to the current understanding of our immune system in the context of the disease.
