OVERVIEW

Training of Nurses in Resuscitation (FIER), Level 2 - 2023 is organized by French Language Resuscitation Society / Societe de Reanimation de Langue Francaise (SRLF) and will be held on Sep 11, 2023.

Educational goals:
General
• Acquire or develop theoretical and practical knowledge in all areas of critical care, in order to be able to ensure optimal care of intensive care patients, and achieve a uniform level of skills on the different themes.
• in particular, by theme:

Hemodynamic Theme:
• Know the pathophysiology of states of shock and their management
• Understand the pathophysiology of arrhythmias and their emergency management
• Identify the relevance of vascular filling (indications but also side effects)
• Be clear about circulatory supplements

Ethics theme:
• Be clear on the implementation of Limitations and Stops of Active Therapeutics (LATA)
• Understand the state of brain death and understand the implications in the context of multi-organ sampling
• Know the specificities of heart failure sampling, Maastricht 3

Respiratory Theme:
• Identify the main ventilation modes and their specificities
• Deepen their knowledge of the COPD patient and their management in the case of the exacerbation of their pathology
• Understand the indications, implementation and monitoring of the patient in the prone position
• Know the indications and the practical use of the CO2 Extractor (ECO2R) as well as the associated nursing supervision
• Recognize the ventilation weaning criteria and know how to conduct a weaning test and its monitoring

Theme Infectiology:
• Identify the predisposing factors of Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia (VAP) and be able to implement a preventive strategy
• Differentiate the classes of antibiotics, their pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, as well as their methods of administration
• Understand the care of patients infected with BMR or immunocompromised

Theme Environment Resuscitation:
• Deepen your knowledge of the determinants of better life in intensive care for patients and caregivers
• Optimize the care of the elderly patient in intensive care, understand the issues
• Identify the factors favoring skin lesions and be able to implement a prevention strategy
• Understand the indications and implementation of plasma exchange in intensive care
• Update your knowledge of patient care in a hyperbaric chamber (indications, organization and monitoring)
• Improve your practice in terms of administering medication
• Discuss the impact of the error on caregivers

Intoxication Theme:
• Recognize drug poisoning and know how to set up appropriate monitoring
• Identify the different toxicological antidotes
• Understanding the treatment of toxic substances

Theme Nephrology:
• Be clear about regional citrate anticoagulation in the context of extra-renal purification, identify the specificities of indications and monitoring
• Understand the pathophysiology of Acute Kidney Failure (ARF) in intensive care
• Neurology Theme
• Know the symptoms of resuscitation neuromyopathy to be able to prevent them as much as possible
• Differentiate between neurological damage according to their etiology: infectious, traumatic, etc. Adapt treatment
• Understand the role of early mobilization and its impact on patient outcomes
