Radical Self-Care: From Mindfulness to Laughter Yoga is organized by American Association of Service Coordinators (AASC) and will be held on Sep 30, 2021.
Who Should Attend: All
Accreditation: 1 training contact hour
Description:
The threats to personal and collective wellbeing have multiplied. For many, it is time to reassess and re-evaluate the self-care strategies we have in place, both those that are still working for us, and those we may need to tweak or replace in our routines for increased personal effectiveness and wholistic wellbeing. This presentation aims to help participants engage actively in this process of reassessing their own “radical self-care plan.” In particular, participants will be invited to consider mental exercises such as mindfulness to help stay well, get well and make it through challenging times like what 2020 brought. This is an opportunity to start the year with a reset, reassess and refresh. Lots of laughing will be required in this session!
Learning Objectives:
• Describe and define what the two forms of self-care are that may be helpful to consider in this season of our lives
• Identify at least two distress tolerance skills you can use and offer to others that can help to improve the moment
• Apply concepts of mindfulness and laughter exercises to refine one’s mental discipline that may serve to reduce personal suffering
