Description:
We all have the desire to be in a relationship, whether it’s a friendship, romantic, platonic, working, or family relationship.  It is a human desire to want to be loved and needed.  Sometimes that desire is so strong that one may seek that connection in an unhealthy relationship.  One may even settle for a relationship that is abusive, negative or one sided.  Looking from the outside in we may wonder why one may stay in unhealthy relationships. Learn how strong the desire to be in a relationship can impact our resident’s life both short term and long term.

Learning Objectives:
• Learn about different types of relationships and how they can look
• Learn the physical and emotional effects of being in a relationship, both healthy and unhealthy relationships
• Learn why relationships are important for one’s well-being and the role that they play in one’s life
• Discuss ways to foster healthy relationships and to embrace them
• Learn how an individual’s story can impact his/her relationship
