The lab is the center of eye bank operations, and the design can offer added functionality and efficiency. When eye banks grow operations, incorporate new work flows, or move locations, a new lab is often built. Building or remodeling a lab is a daunting process and it is a challenge to know where to begin. Speakers from four eye banks share their experiences designing and building labs for their eye banks. Attendees will hear about the considerations for the design of each lab, the lessons learned throughout the process, the decisions that were made and why, the challenges and successes, the regulations that need to be met, the process for moving operations to the new lab, and much more.
